Alaska Standard Time

Alaska Standard Time (AKST) is a time zone that is used in the state of Alaska in the United States. It is 9 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and does not observe Daylight Saving Time. AKST is also known as Alaska Time.

The state of Alaska in the United States is the only place that uses the Alaska Standard Time zone. Alaska is the largest state in the United States, covering an area of over 600,000 square miles. It is located in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and the Arctic Ocean to the north. Alaska is known for its rugged, mountainous terrain and its abundant wildlife, including bears, moose, and eagles. The capital of Alaska is Juneau, and the largest city is Anchorage.

During the summer months, many parts of Alaska observe Daylight Saving Time, which is also known as Alaska Daylight Time (AKDT). During this time, the clock is set ahead by one hour, and the time becomes 8 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). However, not all parts of Alaska observe Daylight Saving Time, so it is important to check the local time when traveling to Alaska.
